Trade turnover between Iran and Central Asian countries reached a new level

As was said by Mostafa Nasiri, General Director of the Horasan Railway, the number of export cargoes sent in the first half of the year across the Serahs railway border to the Central Asian countries reached 600,000 tons with more than 9,500 freight wagons.

Compared to the same period last year, the volume of exported products has tripled.Among the main consumers is Horasan-Razavi province, where 550,000 tons of goods are exported, which is equal to 92% informs “Turkmenistan: Golden Age” reports.

Among the products exported from the Sarahs railway crossing to Central Asia, cement takes the leading place with an indicator of 36%. The largest volume of exported products falls on Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan with a share of 45% and 41%, which indicates the development of trade and economic relations between the three friendly countries.

To ensure the growth of production, the Horasan railway provides its railway services to exporters. The main advantages of rail transport are the reduction of the risk of road accidents, the protection of the environment from pollution and the reduction of the number of road accidents, says Mostafa Nasiri.

“Tejen - Sarahs Mashhad” railway, which began its work in 1996, is a powerful engine of regional cooperation for Iran.
