TLUM and COSCO SHIPPING Group discussed prospects for cooperation

During the working visit of the delegation of Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan JSC (TLUM) to the People's Republic of China, a meeting was held with representatives of the COSCO SHIPPING Group company in Shanghai.

The parties held negotiations on the possibility of opening a COSCO SHIPPING Group container line to Turkmenistan. The issue of organizing the delivery of containers to the International Seaport of Turkmenbashy was discussed. This step will allow the creation of a new logistics center in Central Asia for further transportation of goods along East-West routes.

During the meeting, key areas of interaction were agreed upon:

1. Transportation of containers from the People's Republic of China in transit through the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic to Turkmenistan.

2. Further shipment of goods through the International Port of Turkmenbashy mainly to European countries and states of the Middle East.

COSCO SHIPPING Group is China's leading state-owned company in the field of international container and freight transport. The company ranks first in the world in terms of general cargo transportation volumes and third place in container transportation.

COSCO SHIPPING Group operates in 356 ports in 105 countries and serves 255 international routes. The company's fleet includes modern mega-container ships with a capacity of up to 21 000 TEU.
