Three objects of cultural heritage of Kyrgyzstan entered the UNESCO list

Ak-kalpak, the game of kok-boru and the World Nomad Games have been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. Audrey Azoulay, General Director of the organization, visited Bishkek to present certificates, reports a correspondent of the “MIR 24” TV channel.

Ak-kalpak is a national headdress, symbolizing mountains and purity.The traditional game of kok-boru in ancient times was included in the military training of young men, and now it is entertainment.

The pride of Kyrgyzstan is the World Nomad Games.The first time they were held in 2014.And brought together almost 600 participants from 19 countries.Now the games compete in 47 types of national sports.

In the republic, the games were held three times, then the baton was passed to other countries, the source notes.

Let us remind that three natural sites of Kyrgyzstan were previously included in the UNESCO World Heritage List: the Sacred Mountain Sulaiman-Too (2009), the Great Silk Road: the route network of the Chang'an-Tien Shan corridor (2014), the Western Tien Shan (2016).
