In the evening of 15 May a car knocked down three girls aged 10-11 at the intersection of 10 ýyl abadançylyk and Yubileynaya streets.
Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report that one girl died at the scene whereas the second one, according to some sources, died in the ambulance. The third girl has been admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital.
The driver, who did not slow down his vehicle at the traffic lights, is allegedly held responsible for the tragedy.
According to latest reports, the driver has not been detained yet.
The girls had been on the way to the residential district MIR-4 where in the run-up to the Muslim fast Uraza children go door to door to collect treats.
