The English Football Association officially announced the appointment of Thomas Tuchel as head coach of the national team on its social network X. The 51 years old German specialist will take up his duties in January 2025.

Tuchel, known for his success in European football, will replace Lee Carsley, who has been in charge of the team on an interim basis. Under Carsley, England have shown impressive results in the Nations League, winning three of their four matches.

Tuchel's last job was at “Bayern” Munich. Before that, he successfully coached such famous clubs as London's “Chelsea”, Paris's “PSG” and “Borussia” Dortmund.

It is interesting to note that before the official announcement, there were rumours in the press about the possible appointment of Tuchel as head coach of “Manchester United”. However, the German specialist preferred to work with the national team.
