The 4th session of the joint working group between the United Nations and the government of Turkmenistan on social and economic impact of global pandemic СОVID-19 was held on Wednesday, November 25, in online mode. Representatives of the interested ministries and departments, international financial institutions and public organisations took part in the session.
Discussion of the course of realisation of the Plan of operative social and economic actions in Turkmenistan on counteraction of the pandemic of acute infectious disease, and also the further steps on acceleration of realisation of the given plan with involving of the government of Turkmenistan, agencies of the United Nations and international financial institutions became the meeting’s purpose.
According to the arrangement reached following the results of the 3rd session of the joint working group which was held on August 26, the current year, the detailed table of monitoring of performance of the plan in which the indicators accepted by the United Nations at global level for the reporting on social economic reaction to the pandemic by the country offices of the United Nations were integrated, was developed.
At today’s session Elena Panova, resident co-ordinator of the United Nations in Turkmenistan and resident representative of UNDP in Turkmenistan Natia Natsvlishvili spoke.From the Turkmen party with reports on results of the done work representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministries of Finance and Economy, Central bank, Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations and Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan spoke.
Concerning the analysis of the statistical data for timely and qualitative realisation of social and economic actions for pandemic counteraction experts of the World Bank, ADB and European Reconstruction and Development Bank also expressed their views.
