The Uzbek authorities approved the amount to be paid to athletes who won medals at the 2024 Summer Olympics and Paralympics in Paris.
This is stated in the Resolution “On the acceleration of preparatory work for the successful participation of athletes of Uzbekistan in the next summer and winter Olympic and Paralympic Games”, signed by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Thus, athletes will receive 50 000 USD for a bronze medal, 100 000 USD for a silver medal, and 200 000 USD for a gold medal. Funds for this will be allocated from the state budget.
The National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan was established in 1992 and recognized by the IOC in 1993. In total, during their performance as an independent team, athletes of Uzbekistan won 37 Olympic medals (11 gold, 6 silver and 20 bronze).
The Paris Olympic Games are scheduled from July 26 to August 11, 2024. They will become the 33rd Summer Games in a row. The French capital will host the Summer Olympics for the third time. Previously, the Summer Games of 1900 and 1924 were held in Paris.
