The Office of the Mufti of Turkmenistan held an international tender for the design, construction and improvement of the adjacent territory of the main mosque in the new modern administrative center of the Ahal velayat - in the city of Arkadag.
According to the results of the tender, the economic company “Altyn”, a member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, was declared the winner.This was stated during today's visit of Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the city of Arkadag, during which he got acquainted with the projects of the spiritual temple, announced the news program “Watan” of the Turkmen television.
Speaking about the fact that in Islam the mihrab in a mosque should be turned towards Mecca, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov recommended starting construction work on a blessed day, facing the Kaaba, which corresponds to the commitment of the people to their age-old traditions.
In the main mosque of Ahal velayat, 5 thousand 500 people will be able to pray at the same time.
Let us remind that a special charitable account has been opened at the State Commercial Bank “Turkmenistan” for those wishing to contribute to the construction of the main mosque in the new modern administrative center of the Ahal velayat, where approximately 70 thousand people will live.
It is being built on an area of 950 hectares, 30 kilometers southwest of the Turkmen capital.The construction of Arkadag, the country's first “smart city” worth 1,5 billion USD, was launched in April 2019.
