The UN and the private sector of Turkmenistan come together to achieve the SDGs

The UN-Private Sector Partnership Platform was launched at the UN building in Ashgabat, aimed at uniting the efforts of the UN, business and key stakeholders in order to identify priorities in achieving national development goals, implementing the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals, the publication reports "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

The event was attended by representatives of UN country offices, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, ambassadors and embassy staff, heads and representatives of international organizations in Turkmenistan.

The key theme of the event was the importance of private sector participation in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. Speakers emphasized that by leveraging innovation, resources and private business experience, Turkmenistan can accelerate progress towards sustainable development.

Complementing existing efforts and initiatives, the Platform will provide a centralized platform for the exchange of knowledge, experience and resources, and will become an important forum for constructive dialogue and cooperation on sustainable development issues. Regular meetings and discussions will promote stakeholder engagement and awareness, developing a culture of collaboration and information sharing.

It is expected that in the future the Platform will play a key role in shaping the country's development agenda and achieving tangible results against the stated goals.

As the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Dmitry Shlapachenko noted: “The creation of the UN-Private Sector Partnership Platform reflects the commitment of the country’s private business to inclusive and sustainable development. Through collaboration and partnership, we can overcome challenges and work to build a brighter future for everyone.”
