Today, a ceremonial farewell ceremony for the national team that will represent Turkmenistan at the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris were held at the Martial Arts Complex of the Ashgabat Olympic village, the Turkmenportal correspondent reports.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Physical Education and Sports, national Olympic and Paralympic committees, heads of the country's sports federations, students, as well as the media.
There is less than a week left before the start of one of the most important large-scale competitions, which will be held from July 26 to August 11. The tournament, according to tradition, brings together the best athletes from all over the planet.
The Turkmenistan national team included 6 athletes competing in four sports: judo, track and field and weightlifting, and swimming.
Turkmenistan will be represented by Davranbek Hasanbayev in the weightlifting competition in the weight category up to 102 kg.Athlete Valentina Meredova will participate in the 100-meter race.
Serdar Rahimov (up to 66 kg) and Maysa Pardayeva (up to 57 kg) will fight for medals in judo competitions.Musa Zhalayev (100 meters freestyle) and Aynura Primova (100 meters backstroke) will take part in the swimming competitions.
The ceremony participants wished the Turkmen athletes success in the arenas of the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris.
