On 14 December the session of Turkmenistan-US Business Council was held in Ashgabat.
The meeting brought together executives and officials of ministries and government agencies of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat khyakimlik’s office as well as some US companies including Westport Trading Europe, Oxbow Sulphur, General Electric, Elizarov Consulting Group, Case New Holland, John Deere, Niclaus Desing, Boeing, Coca-cola and the University of Memphis.
The state information agency TDH reports that several projects were implemented under the auspices of the Council.
The opening of the golf club in October 2017 and the launch of the Turkmen communications satellite in April 2015 are among the most vivid examples.
“The issues pertaining to legal safeguards of foreign investment activities and foreign-invested enterprises were also included in the agenda of the meeting”, — TDH says.
Moreover, “the prospects of partnership in education” were raised at the meeting.At the same time in late November the US Embassy reported that the authorities of Turkmenistan had not yet granted permission to conduct FLEX testing for schoolchildren.
