On 8 and 9 January, 2022 the delegation of Turkmenistan held a number of meetings in Iran, including with the Iranian Petroleum Minister Javad Owji, Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Development Rostam Qasemi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and First Vice-President Mohammad Mokhber.
Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the cooperation in economy, trade, fuel and energy sector, manufacturing, transportation and communications, including international and regional motor and rail transportation were on the agenda.
According to the Iranian media outlet IRNA, during the meeting in Iran’s Foreign Ministry the sides reviewed documents which will be signed in the course of a forthcoming visit of the Turkmen President to Iran.
Turkmen media outlets do not report on preparations to Berdymukhammedov’s visit to Iran.
The government delegation which arrived in the neighbouring country at the request of the Turkmen President, was headed by the Deputy Chairperson of the Cabinet of Ministers Serdar Berdymukhammedov and the Deputy Chairperson of the Cabinet of Ministers, Turkmenistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov.The post The Turkmen President to visit Iran first appeared on Chronicles of Turkmenistan.
