The Turkmen crew won the fifth stage of the “Silk Way” rally

The crew of Maksatmyrat Danatarov from the Automobile Sports Federation of Turkmenistan took first place at the fifth stage of the “Silk Way” rally Marathon in the T2 serial SUV category, silkwayrally.com reports.

Mikhail Mityaev from the LADA Sport ROSNEFT Raid team finished second, ahead of the overall leader Andrey Sushentsov.

In the overall standings of the T2 class, Sushentsov is 11,5 minutes ahead of Mityaev. Danatarov takes third place, followed by Anton Melnikov and the crew of the Toylyev brothers.

On the fifth day of the competition, the participants crossed the Russian-Mongolian border. The race continued on the rocky roads of Mongolia, known as the “land of eternal blue skies”.

The special stage began with fast winding tracks between the hills, followed by rocky sections with holes and mounds along the mountain lake Achit-Nuur. The final stage passed through a canyon with fast roads, where the riders were able to reach maximum speed.

The “Silk Way” rally finishes on July 15 in the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar.
