The team of the Turkmen university took 2nd place in the international competition in Dubai

The youth team of the International University of Humanities and Development successfully represented Turkmenistan in the 23rd Inter College Environmental Public Speaking Competition, which was held in Dubai.

The Turkmen team consisting of students of the Faculty of International Economics and Management - Davut Gurbanaliyev, Pirmuhammet Azadov, Maral Allaberdiyeva, Shabibi Nurlyeva, Agayusup Ashirov and their mentor - a young teacher of the Department of Management Agajan Shasaparov took second place in the category “Growing energy needs: provision of renewable energy sources or dependence on oil”.

The guys were awarded a special diploma from the competition, reported the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.

The Inter-University Public Speaking Competition on Environmental Issues is organized annually by the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG).

In total, about 500 students from 89 higher educational institutions around the world took part in the competition.

The competition was held in team events and took place in a hybrid format. The topics for the competition were: “Environmental Policy and Regulation: Are They Enough”, “Growing Energy Demands: Ensuring Renewable Energy Sources or Dependence on Oil”, “Multinational Corporations: Convincing Economic Growth or Environmental Degradation” and “Microplastics: An Invisible Disease”.

This forum is a platform for a wide international audience of students, where they are given the opportunity to formulate and propose new ideas in the format of youth initiatives on the environmental agenda, the source reports.
