The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan develops cooperation with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the International Road Transport Union (IRU)

On June 16 and 22, 2021, an online meeting on international practice and international rules of customs clearance and customs control through the digital TIR-EPD system for international cargo transportation was held.

Specialists of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Agency "Turkmenaragatnashyk", and representatives of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the International Road Transport Union (IRU), Turkmen Association of International Road Carriers (THADA) attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the integration of the TIR-EPD system in the customs bodies and via the system to facilitate the electronic exchange of documents and information on goods moving across the customs border by road.

In addition, the Roadmap on integration of the e-TIR system was discussed between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and IRU as a sequel of the TIR-EPD system.
