The State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan: Turkmenistan’s exports for 8 months amounted to 7,8 billion USD

The total export volume of Turkmenistan for 8 months of 2023 amounted to 7,8 billion US dollars. Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan Rahimberdy Jepbarov said this while speaking at the international oil and gas conference OGT-2023, informs Turkmenportal correspondent.

The total volume of foreign trade turnover reached 13,7 billion US dollars. Thus, the positive balance of foreign trade of Turkmenistan for January-August 2023 amounted to 1,9 billion US dollars, demonstrating the competitiveness of the national economy and the effective trade policy of the state.

The head of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan also noted that according to a recent report by the rating agency Fitch Ratings, in 2022, Turkmenistan’s external debt amounted to 4,9% of GDP. Turkmenistan's current external debt is only 3,4 billion US dollars, Jepbarov said.
