A meeting between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the head of the Turkmen-Austrian Society Neda Berger was held in Ashgabat. According to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, the meeting discussed the issue of holding the sixth Vienna Ball in Turkmenistan this year.
In 2024, the Turkmen-Austrian Symphony Orchestra “Galkynysh”, created on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, celebrates its 15th anniversary. In addition, the Turkmen people are celebrating at a high level the 300th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding poet and thinker, internationally recognized classic of Eastern literature Magtymguly Fragi.
As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, cultural and humanitarian ties are an important component of Turkmen-Austrian relations.
You are a long-time and true friend of Turkmenistan. For many years, you have been actively participating in various holidays held in our country, consistently making a contribution to the development of interstate relations”, - said the head of state.

Let us remind that the first Vienna Ball was held in Ashgabat on September 17, 2011, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the state independence of Turkmenistan.
The second ball was held on September 26, 2014 in honor of the Independence Day of Turkmenistan and the 22nd anniversary of the establishment of Turkmen-Austrian diplomatic relations. The third Vienna Ball was organized on September 24, 2016, marking the 25th anniversary of Turkmen sovereignty.
The fourth ball was held on October 24, 2019, marking the 10th anniversary of the creation of the joint Turkmen-Austrian symphony orchestra “Galkynysh”. The fifth Vienna Ball was held on October 11, 2023 on the occasion of the opening of the “smart” city “Arkadag”.
