The Senate of Kazakhstan approved the agreement on the regime of the state border with Turkmenistan

Kazakh senators considered and approved the law “On the ratification of the Agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan on the regime of the state border”. This was reported today by the press service of the Senate of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The agreement provides for the regulation of legal relations between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan on the state border. In particular, the norms of the law determine the procedure for protecting the state border, crossing it, transporting goods and other property.

The document also includes issues of doing business, fishing or other activities on the state border, in border zones and water areas.

At the same time, ways to resolve incidents that may arise at the border from a legal point of view are streamlined.

“At present time, there is one border unit protecting the Kazakh-Turkmen state border, 4 border outposts and 9 technical control posts equipped with radar stations, 2 checkpoints”, Senate deputy Alisher Satvaldiyev said in an interview with “Kazinform”.
