The second meeting of the speakers of the parliaments of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea was held in Ashgabat. The participants discussed strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation, which is an important tool for maintaining productive dialogue and mutual understanding between the countries, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
At the plenary session “Partnership for Peace, Prosperity and Mutual Trust” it was noted that the key role in the creation and strengthening of parliamentary relations belongs to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Thanks to his foresight, centuries-old ties between peoples are strengthened and enriched with new creative impulses.
In the afternoon, the work continued in two sessions: “Economic cooperation, digital economy and industry” and “Cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the Republic of Korea to mitigate the effects of climate change on the path to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals”.
The results of the meeting were reflected in the Joint Declaration, adopted on the basis of the proposals and opinions put forward.
