Residents of the villages of Yoleten etrap gather in front of state-run stores waiting for the supply of flour. Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report that as of early October, the flour for August and September, which is sold per quotas, became known.
In this connection people are forced to buy low quality bread, which is sold with a restriction of two loaves per person.
At local bazaars a 50 kilo sack of the 1st grade Turkmen flour is sold at the price of 150 to 200 manats. Many residents cannot afford it.
According to a resident of the village of Baýraç, the diet for the majority of rural residents is made up of pumpkin and spinach. Flour, which is in short supply, is needed to make samsa and pies using the aforementioned ingredients.
Rural inhabitants of the etraps Flour at state-run prices Türkmengala, Baýramaly, Tagtabazar and Murgap have not received rationed flour at state prices for August and September.
