The Russian SAMBO team took first place in the team event at the World Championships, which ended in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan).
In total, Russian athletes won 19 medals (13-2-4). The second place was taken by the team of Kyrgyzstan (2-1-3), the third - by Belarus (1-3-4).
Athletes from Russia, Belarus and France competed under the FIAS flag in accordance with the decision of the executive committee of the organization.
The team of Turkmenistan has 6 medals: one gold, one silver and four bronze.
Let us remind that on the first day of the competition, a serviceman of the military unit № 1001 named after Myalikguly Berdimuhamedov of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Muhammet Kossekov won the highest standard award in the team of Turkmenistan.
On the second day of the World Championship, bronze medals were won by the representative of the National Martial Arts Federation of Turkmenistan Kakageldy Egenbayev (up to 71 kg) and the coach of the sports school of the State Committee for Physical Education and Sports Batyr Hodjamuhamedov (over 98 kg).
On the final day of the competition, Begench Baltayev won the silver medal in the team of Turkmenistan.The coach of the 2nd sports school of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of the Lebap velayat achieved this success in the weight category up to 79 kg in sports sambo.
Bronze medals were won by Guvanch Begaliyev in sports sambo (up to 98 kg) and Babajan Ivadullayev in combat sambo (over 98 kg).
The World Sambo Championship was held in Bishkek from November 11 to 13. The tournament was attended by representatives of 52 countries. Representatives of 21 of them (including the refugee team) leave Bishkek with awards.
