The Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan gave a gala reception in honor of Victory Day

A gala reception in honor of the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War was organized by the Russian Embassy in Ashgabat on the evening of May 9.

As reported on the website of the Russian Embassy, the evening was attended by representatives of the Government of Turkmenistan, heads and employees of diplomatic missions, cultural figures, business circles and Russian citizens living in Turkmenistan.

The honorary guests of the event were veterans of the Great Patriotic War Sergey Tevosovich Agamyan, Elena Timofeevna Oganisyan, Antonina Pavlovna Pryanichnikova and Galina Alekseevna Mamedova.

Guests were shown an exhibition of propaganda posters “Windows of Turkmentag”, which were published in Turkmenistan during the war.

Russian Ambassador Ivan Volynkin, speaking to those present, noted that Turkmenistan is an example of a state that takes care of history.

The Russian diplomat thanked the Turkmen side for supporting the embassy’s initiatives aimed at preserving the memory of the common Victory over fascism.
