The Turkmenistan Table Tennis Championship was held in the Ashgabat Olympic village, in which 120 athletes from all velayats of the country took part. This was reported by the press service of the Table Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan.
Ashgabat teams dominated the team competition, winning gold and silver medals among both men and women. The third place among men was taken by the team of Mary velayat, and among women - by Lebap velayat.
In the men's singles, the entire podium again went to Ashgabat tennis players. Alibek Jumanov became the champion, Ilyas Allanazarov won the silver medal, and Armen Babayan won the bronze medal. In the women's singles, Enejan Balliyeva won, Gozel Glycheva took second place, and Nasiba Mammedova took third place.
The Ashgabat pair also triumphed in the men's doubles. Alibek Jumanov once again performed successfully, this time together with his brother Guvanch. Azarov and Ahmedov were second, Allanazarov and Meredov were third.
Among women, Ballyeva and Begencheva won, Berdyeva and Nurgeldiyeva won silver, Goekgayeva and Glyjova won bronze.
In mixed doubles, Ilyas Allanazarov and Enejan Balliyeva won gold medals. Silver for Jumanov and Arayeva, bronze for Azarov and Berdyeva.
Chairman of the Federation Agamurad Allanazarov noted that regular holding of such tournaments contributes to the development of skills and professional growth of athletes.
The championship was organized by the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports, the Table Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan and the Main Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the city of Ashgabat.
