As part of the year “Anau - the cultural capital of the Turkic world - 2024”, a number of forums, festivals and conferences are planned in Turkmenistan with the participation of cultural and artistic figures, scientists, journalists and representatives of the tourism industry of the countries of the Turkic world.
Turkmenportal was informed about this by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan.
The purpose of large-scale events is to strengthen international cooperation in the field of culture and art, as well as to popularize the rich historical and cultural heritage of the ancient city of Anau.
The opening ceremony of the year “Anau - the cultural capital of the Turkic world - 2024” is planned to be held on March 22 in the Türkmeniň ak oýi building in the Ak Bugday etrap of the Ahal velayat of Turkmenistan.
There will also be a large concert of cultural and artistic figures of the Turkic countries and an exhibition of works by artists, photographers, as well as masters of decorative and applied arts.
In April, it is planned to organize a media tour of the sights of Turkmenistan for journalists and photographers of TURKSOY member countries. Later in May, a trip to historical and cultural attractions will be organized for representatives of travel agencies of TURKSOY member countries.
An international scientific conference “Ancient Culture of Anau” is planned for August with the participation of archaeologists and researchers of architectural art from Turkic countries.
The program provides for the International Youth Forum of the TURKSOY member countries. The event, planned for October, is designed to strengthen cooperation between young scientists and artists of the Turkic world.
In October, Turkmenistan should host the International Festival, Conference and Exhibition on Folklore and Decorative and Applied Arts of the Turkic Peoples, as well as the II International Theater Festival of the TURKSOY member countries.
The Korkut Ata International Film Festival is planned for November, as well as the final events dedicated to declaring the city of Anau the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024.
These include meetings of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of the member states of the International Organization of Turkic Culture and a concert of artists from Turkic-speaking countries.
During 2024, it is also planned to organize a Week of Cinema and Documentary Films about the historical and cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples.
Turkmenistan, in cooperation with partners in TURKSOY, intends to publish a special magazine dedicated to the history of Anau. There are also plans to prepare a video that will introduce viewers to the culture of the ancient city, and organize its broadcast on the national television channels of the TURKSOY member countries during 2024.
