The production of bio-oriented polypropylene film starts at Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries in June

The Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries is preparing for production a new type of product - bio-oriented polypropylene film (BOPP).The contract for the construction of a machinery for the production of a packaging film of two types - transparent single-layer and coextruded film was concluded with the company "P.T.Istana karang Laut" (Indonesia).

The commissioning is in progress. The production will start by the end of June.

The new equipment will enable plant specialists to expand the range of products from polypropylene produced at the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries. From local, raw materials will be produced annually more than 20 thousand tons of films of various types and purposes, also for packaging food and industrial products.

The processing technology involves alternately stretching the produced film along two transverse directions (axes). The film produced this way increases strength and low density in comparison with polymeric analogues, since they have a different molecular structure.

This gives the advantage of BOPP - at the same thickness the weighs is less and makes its use profitable. In addition to packaging food products, propylene films are used in the textile industry and for packaging disposable medical supplies.

The coextruded film is characterized by gas barrier properties and high thermoform ability.A special layer of polyamide allows manufacturing of vacuum and high-strength packaging for goods subjected to freezing.

The non-erasable seal can be applied to an interlayer film.
