On 27 December, 2019 President Gurbanguly Berdymukahmmedov held the final joint session of the Cabinet of Ministers and Turkmenistan’s State Security Council bringing together khyakims of Ashgabat and velayats.
The state information agency TDH reports that at the session the head of state summarized the results of the year “were in general positive for the country”.
Berdymukhammedov said that “despite some constraints, the large-scale projects have been implemented over the past year and many issues have been resolved”.
Below are the main accomplishments of 2019 as viewed by Berdymukhammedov:
The food security was ensured in the country and about 1,7 mln tons of wheat and over a million tons of cotton were harvested.
Over 2 thousand manufacturing and social facilities worth about $35 billion are under construction.
The construction of the TAPI gas pipeline is successfully being implemented.
The GDP is expected to grow by 6,3%.
The official delegation has paid 7 visits to overseas countries and 28 heads of states and foreign governments visited Turkmenistan.
41 sessions of the Cabinet of Ministers, 14 sessions of the State Security Council and 56 meetings devoted to various topics were held.
Let us recall that a month ago Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov admonished the officials overseeing industry and communications as well as the agroindustrial sector for failure to execute the plans and severely criticized the officials responsible for the oil and gas sector.
