At the Cabinet session held on 12 October President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov once again raised the topic of agriculture development.
The state information agency TDH reports that the President expressed discontent with the performance of the state holding “Turkmenkhimia” and emphasized that “agriculture is experiencing difficulty owing to shortfall in mineral fertilizers supply”.
The Chairperson of state holding “Turkmenkhimia” Niyazly Niyazlyev was severely reprimanded with the final warning for poor performance of job responsibilities.It should be highlighted that this is the third reprimand issued to Niyazlyev this year.
In this connection the head of the state instructed that the construction of the second potassium fertilizers manufacturing facility be expedited and demanded that all issues raised be immediately resolved.
The President also pointed to the low pace of agricultural reforms which are being implemented to Deputy Prime Minister Esenmyrat Orazgeldiev, khyakims of velayats and all high-ranking agriculture officials.
Moreover, the head of the state issued a severe reprimand with the final warning to Minister of Agriculture and Water Economy Ovezmurad Enemyradov for job-related shortcomings at work.
Following up the agricultural topic, the President emphasized that farming works in “some provinces are slowing down”. For instance, khyakim of Dashoguz velayat M. Bairamgulyev was severely reprimanded with the final warning for shortcomings when fulfilling the National Rural Program and poor performance of job-related responsibilities.
In conclusion, the President signed the resolution, pursuant to which Turkmenistan’s banks are authorized to provide subsidized loans to daikhan associations, tenant farmers and entrepreneurs to purchase agricultural machinery at the interest rate of 1% and for investment projects up to 10 eyars at the interest rate of 5%.
