President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk on April 9, reported the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
The parties discussed the prospects and potentials of bilateral cooperation during the conversation. Trade, fuel and energy complex, agriculture, transport and communications sector, light industry and processing industries are noted among the priority areas of cooperation.
The great importance of contacts in the format of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian commission on economic cooperation, co-chaired by A. Overchuk was noted, and the tasks were concretized, which will be solved within the framework of this structure.
The interlocutors stressed the necessity to increase the volume of mutual trade, stimulate investment activity, promote direct contacts between the business communities of Turkmen and Russia.
Also, the attention was paid to interaction in the field of shipbuilding and building up cultural humanitarian contacts.
Let us note, that earlier Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who headed the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission for Economic Cooperation from Turkmenistan and Alexei Overchuk in October 2021 signed the Program for Economic Cooperation between the governments of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation for 2021-2023.
