The President of Turkmenistan proposed to hold the Medical Congress of the countries of Central Asia and the Gulf in Ashgabat

The Medical Congress of the countries of Central Asia and the Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf proposed to hold in Ashgabat in 2025 President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

He stated this while speaking at the first summit of the states of Central Asia and the Persian Gulf, which took place in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

According to the head of state, the development of cooperation in medicine and healthcare is among the urgent tasks, and a number of important international initiatives in this area were put forward by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.

The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) was established in 1981. Six countries are members of this regional organization: The Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The current summit, which was chaired by the Crown Prince, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, was attended by the leaders of the member countries of the Council and the Central Asian states - Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as the General Secretary of the GCC.
