The President of Turkmenistan met with the head of the International Tennis Federation

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the head of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) David Haggerty and the head of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) Yuri Polsky, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

Expressing gratitude for their time, the guests confirmed the interest of the ITF and ATF in developing fruitful cooperation. Stressing that Turkmenistan has achieved great success in this direction, Haggerty presented Serdar Berdimuhamedov with the Certificate of the International Tennis Federation.

The head of state thanked for the presentation of the ITF certificate, noting that he regards this as a sign of international recognition of the far-sighted strategy being implemented in Turkmenistan, aimed at creating a comprehensive system for the development and popularization of sports, including tennis.

As the head of state noted, the current visit of the leaders of the ITF and ATF is considered an important event in the history of Turkmen tennis.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that he is ready to support the initiatives and proposals of the ITF and ATF to promote tennis in Turkmenistan and around the world. Speaking about this, the head of state proposed exploring the possibilities of using the country’s sports infrastructure to hold international tennis tournaments, training camps and master classes.
