The results of the activities of military and law enforcement agencies for 2023 were discussed at an extended off-site meeting of the State Security Council, chaired by the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the state news agency TDH reports.
During the meeting, the head of state heard reports from the heads of military and law enforcement agencies on the work done and gave them specific instructions to ensure security and tranquility in the country, strengthen the material and technical base of law enforcement agencies and further improve their activities.
During the meeting, a number of organizational issues were discussed.By the corresponding Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, with the consent of the Mejlis, S.Myalikgulyev was relieved of his position as the Prosecutor General of Turkmenistan “for failure to properly fulfill his official duties and the low level of organization of the work of the prosecutor’s office.” Begmurat Muhamedov has been appointed the new Prosecutor General of Turkmenistan.
“Having pronounced a solemn oath, B. Muhamedov, bending his knee, kisses the edge of the sacred State Flag of the Fatherland as a sign of fidelity to the military oath, eternal devotion to the Motherland and readiness to selflessly guard the peaceful and creative life of the people.
Having signed the Decree and wishing the new Prosecutor General success in his work, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need to ensure strict control over the implementation of laws and the legality of legal documents, as well as the protection of the rights and freedoms of our citizens,” TDH comments.
Continuing the meeting, addressing members of the State Security Council, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov, announced the decision to assign military, special ranks and qualification classes to some heads of military and law enforcement agencies, taking into account their personal contribution to strengthening the independence and sovereignty of the country, ensuring security, public and legal order.
Summing up the meeting, the head of state noted that in accordance with the requirements of the Military Doctrine, which is purely defensive in nature, regular measures are being taken to ensure a high level of military security and integrity of independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan, strengthening its defense capability, as well as to further improve the living conditions of defenders Motherland and members of their families, and this work will continue in the future.
At the extended off-site meeting of the State Security Council, other issues were also considered and appropriate decisions were made.
