Yesterday, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held the first working meeting via the digital system in the new year, 2022, held under the motto “The Epoch of the People with Arkadag”, which was attended by some Cabinet Deputy Chairmen, the Minister of Education, as well as the khyakims of the velayats and the capital.
The meeting considered the tasks of executing reforms in various regions of the country.At the same time, there were discussed issues connected with the implementation of large-scale national programs deployed in the Motherland, preparation for the cultivation of potatoes and vegetable crops in fields become free from cotton, as well as the care of winter grains in accordance with agro-technical standards.
Using live video link, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov firstly called the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Ch.Purchekov and khyakim of Ashgabat city R.Gandymov.The head of the capital’s administration reported on the current state of affairs in the main city of the country, in particular, on the taken measures to maintain the cleanliness and beautification of white marble Ashgabat, as well as to ensure the smooth functioning of the lighting system.
Then Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Ch.Purchekov reported on the dynamics of construction work in various parts of the country, particularly in the capital, measures taken to ensure the coordinated activities of relevant services for uninterrupted energy, gas and water supply in the city.
The Vice Prime Minister also informed about the preparations for the construction of various facilities planned for 2022, which is held under the motto “The Epoch of the People with Arkadag”.
Among them are social and administrative buildings, which are planned to be built in the capital.Then Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers S.Toilyev and Minister of Education G.Atayeva were summoned to a working session via the digital system.
The Minister of Education reported on the level of readiness of schools in the light of the end of the winter holidays, as well as on the measures taken to ensure the proper functioning of heating systems in educational and preschool institutions.
Deputy Prime Minister S.Toilyev reported on the current state of affairs in subordinate structures and preparations for the beginning of the second half of the 2021-2022 academic year in secondary schools of the country.
There was information about the steps being taken to modernize the activities of schools, and improve teaching methods.Then Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Extraordinary Commission of Turkmenistan on Combating the Spread of Diseases S.Toilyev reported on the comprehensive work carried out to combat the pandemic and the steps taken for its effectiveness.
Noting that, according to WHO and media reports, a new strain of coronavirus has been identified Omicron, which poses a global threat and creates an epidemiological situation in the states adjacent to our country, the Deputy Prime Minister said that in order to further maintain stable epidemiological well-being in the Motherland and prevent the penetration of acute infectious disease into its territory, comprehensive preventive measures are currently being continued at a regular pace and important decisions are being taken.
On errand of the head of state, special importance is attached to the issues of improving the work of healthcare institutions in accordance with the requirements of the time, enhancing international cooperation in this area and the widespread use of world best practices in the fight against global infection, as well as strengthening the principles of a healthy lifestyle in all corners of the country.
The head of state emphasized that it is impossible to relax in this matter.Because a new type of coronavirus infection has been identified in the region, in particular, the omicron strain.

The nation’s leader emphasized that Turkmenistan constantly exchanges experience with other countries in this area, closely cooperates with the UN, its specialized agencies and WHO.Further, the working session via the digital system continued with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers E.Orazgeldiyev, who oversees the agro-industrial complex, and the khyakims of the velayats of the country.
The first to report was the khyakim of the Akhal velayat Ya.Gurbanov, who informed on the progress of seasonal agricultural activities being carried out in the region these days, as well as on the cultivation of potatoes and vegetable crops on cotton-free fields and the development of animal husbandry in the velayat.
Further, the governor of the Balkan velayat, T.Atakhalliyev, reported on the measures taken in the western region of the country to develop the agro-industrial sector and ensure food abundance, planting potatoes, vegetable crops on the lands freed from cotton.
It was also reported about the ongoing work for the integrated development of animal husbandry.Then the working session continued with the report of the khyakim of Dashoguz velayat N.Nazarmyradov, who reported on the state of affairs in the region, work on the care of winter wheat crops in accordance with agricultural technology standards, the preparation of lands freed from cotton for planting potatoes and vegetable crops, as well as the development of animal husbandry.
Khyakim of the Lebap velayat Sh.Amangeldiyev reported on the state of affairs in the region, including the care of winter wheat crops, the preparation of cotton-free lands for planting potatoes and vegetable crops.
It was reported that according to the instructions of the head of state, a lot of work is being done to develop the livestock industry.Then the mayor of Mary velayat D.Annaberdiyev reported on the ongoing work in the region, the care of winter wheat crops, laying the foundations for future harvests, including the preparation of cotton-free lands for planting potatoes, vegetables and melons.
There was information about the fulfillment of the tasks set by the leader of the nation for the development of the livestock industry.Then Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers E.Orazgeldiev reported on the performance of seasonal field works, the implementation of measures to strengthen food abundance in the country.
Highlighting the effective support of the state in order to grow a rich wheat crop in the country and provide a wide range of food products, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the care of wheat fields is carried out according to climatic conditions, their irrigation and nutrition with mineral fertilizers is carried out in accordance with agro-technical standards with the use of high-performance machinery and equipment.
Reporting on the practical steps being taken in this direction, the Deputy Prime Minister said that this year tenants, taking advantage of the opportunities created for their productive work, plan to sow a total of 580 thousand hectares of cotton throughout the country.
Thereby, currently 244,411 hectares have been plowed, the land is being prepared for the season, the area around the fields is being grubbed.It was also reported on the work to ensure food abundance, planting potatoes, vegetable crops on the lands freed from cotton.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, this year the sown fields increased to 50,450 hectares are planned to expand till 106 thousand hectares.In this regard, the relevant land preparation works are being carried out.
In continuation, the head of state underlined that it is necessary to make every effort to carry out seasonal work in the fields of our country in accordance with agro-technical norms, particularly caring for winter crops, preparing fields, agricultural machinery and aggregates for the spring field campaign.
This is the key to solving the tasks on strengthening food abundance in our country and providing the population with a wide range of local vegetables and melons.In this regard, the focus should be on the proper use of farm field, land and water resources, continuous improvement of the supply of farmers with high-quality seeds and other necessary resources, the head of state noted.
In accordance with the Program of Socio-economic Development of the country for 2019-2025 and the National Rural Program, efforts should be made to ensure timely and high-quality agricultural work in the velayats in 2022.
There are great opportunities for this in our country.The President of Turkmenistan emphasized that, in addition to seasonal agricultural work and the successful implementation of reforms in all parts of the country, priority should be given to issues of social protection of the population.
In this regard, it is important to ensure the proper functioning of the heating systems of social buildings, the supply of electricity, natural gas and drinking water.All work carried out in our country must be under constant and strict control.
