The President of Turkmenistan expressed condolences to the leadership of India in connection with death of people during the bridge collapse

The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent sincere condolences to the President of the Republic of India Ms. Draupadi Murmu and the Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi in connection with the bridge collapse in Gujarat state which led to the numerous casualties and injuries, reported on today’s issue of the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.

The head of Turkmenistan conveyed words of deep sympathy and support at this difficult moment to the families and friends of the victims and wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured.

A footbridge across the Machha River collapsed on the evening on October 30 in the Indian city Morbi (Gujarat state).The death toll has reached 132.The suspension bridge built at the end of the XIX century collapsed at the height of the Diwali holiday, a few days after a six-month repair.

There were about 400 people on the bridge at the time of the collapse, including many children.According to the preliminary version the reason of the collapse was overload.
