Today, all progressive mankind celebrates the World Day of Environmental Protection.
On this occasion, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent a congratulatory address to compatriots, as well as to workers in the field of environmental protection.
As the President noted, programs on planting greenery in the country and turning it into a flourishing oasis are being successfully implemented in Turkmenistan.The reforms carried out in order to ensure the cleanliness of the environment are due to the presence of great potential in the field of nature protection, even greater enrichment of the flora and fauna, as well as their scientific research.
As a result of all these large-scale works, the boundaries of forest belts around Ashgabat and in the velayats are steadily expanding.Favorable conditions have been created in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone located on the clean coast of the Caspian Sea for the recreation of compatriots and foreign guests, their acquaintance with the local unique nature.
The “Altyn Asyr” Turkmen Lake created in the center of the Karakum Desert contributes to the enrichment of the flora and fauna of the desert, and to the improvement of the ecological state of the entire region.
Effective measures are also being taken to strengthen and improve the legal framework in this area.
Having acceded to dozens of United Nations environmental conventions, the country is approaching with all responsibility the solution of the tasks of sustainable development facing the world community.
