The National Day of the Republic of Austria is celebrated on October 26 in the country as one of the most important state holidays.Its history is connected with the withdrawal of foreign troops, which were located on the territory of Austria for 10 years after the end of the World War II and in memory of proclamation of permanent neutrality in 1955.
On this day, the most magnificent celebrations are traditionally held in the Austrian capital. In particular, a military parade and an exhibition of military equipment are held on Heroes' Square, the place where eternal neutrality was proclaimed, and an open day is held in the buildings of the Austrian Parliament and the Federal Chancellery.
