On 20 February President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov met with Chief Operating Officer for the Asia Pacific region at CNH Industrial Stefano Pampalone.
“The President and a representative of CNH Industrial, which has been partnering with Turkmenistan for 25 years, discussed opportunities for the implementation of joint investment projects in various sectors”, — the state information agency TDH reported.
Pampalone familiarized the President with new lines of activities of the company, which designs and supplies construction and agricultural machinery.
Berdymukhammedov emphasized that Turkmenistan pays increased attention to the restructuring of the agricultural industry, modernization of its infrastructure, including equipping the industry with state-of-the-art transportation means.
It should be noted that over the past year the President has been constantly expressing discontent with the performance of Turkmenistan’s agricultural complex and undertaking measures to improve the situation in agriculture.
For example, on 9 December 2017 Berdymukhammedov called for allocating plots of land to government agencies to grow agricultural produce and on 19 January instructed to attract private businesses in the agricultural sector to ensure profitability of farming and agriculture.
CNH Industrial is a company registered in the Netherlands with corporate office in London, which designs, manufactures and sells agricultural machinery and construction equipment.
