The President of Kyrgyzstan to visit Turkmenistan

President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenebekov is scheduled to pay a visit to Turkmenistan next week.

The state information agency TDH reports that based on the results of the visit the bilateral documents designed to give a new impetus to Turkmen-Kyrgyz relation are envisaged to be signed.

In November 2014 the former President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev paid an official visit to Turkmenistan.

In August 2015 the first official visit of Gurbanguly Berdymukhmammedov to Kyrgyzstan was held. Prior to that, the Turkmen leader visited Bishkek in 2007 as a distinguished guest of the summit organized by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

In December 2017 the news agency “Kabar” reported that the construction of the fourth section of the gas pipeline Turkmenistan-China will be launched in 2019 in Kyrgyzstan.
