The possibility of delivering Uzbek cargo to Astrakhan through the port of Turkmenbashy has been proposed

Governor of the Astrakhan region Igor Babushkin and Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov discussed the possibility of delivering Uzbek cargo by water through the International Port of Turkmenbashy to the ports of the Astrakhan region.

The negotiations were held during the visit of the Russian delegation to Tashkent, reports the edition “Virtual Customs” with reference to the press service of the government of the Astrakhan region.

The parties discussed the possibilities of transshipment of goods from Uzbekistan to Russia. Currently, they are delivered to Astrakhan by road.

Babushkin suggested that Uzbek companies and entrepreneurs use the transit opportunities of Astrakhan to supply goods from Uzbekistan to Russia. In particular, the possibility of delivering goods from Uzbekistan to Russia through the maritime component of the “North-South” corridor in the direction “Port of Turkmenbashy - ports of the Astrakhan region” was discussed.
