Today, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the British delegation headed by the Director of the British Consulate in Tashkent Denisa Waddingham. The Turkmen side was represented by the Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan A. Atayev.
The purpose of the visit of the British delegation is to get acquainted with educational institutions of Turkmenistan, hold meetings with their management and teachers of English, and study the current needs in teaching English. At the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of creating conditions for taking IELTS tests in Turkmenistan.
IELTS is an international English language testing system designed to assess language proficiency, is one of the most recognized tests in the world, the results of which are accepted by more than 11,000 organizations, including universities, employers, government and professional institutions.
The interlocutors also considered the issue of developing partnerships between universities of the two countries, including within the framework of dual degree programs.
The parties confirmed their mutual interest in developing long-term partnerships and exchanging best practices in the field of education, the source notes.
