The Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN met with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea

Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Aksoltan Atayeva met on Monday with the Deputy Minister for Multilateral Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Yong min Park.

The meeting was held at the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN.

According to the Turkmen permanent mission, during the meeting, issues related to the upcoming elections of non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for the period 2024-2025, in particular, the candidacy of the Republic of Korea, were discussed.

Yong min Park noted that if elected to the UN Security Council, Korea plans to pay special attention to the following areas:

A.Atayeva expressed her hope that the Republic of Korea, as a member of the Security Council, would make every effort to strengthen peace and security both at the regional and global levels.

She also noted that Turkmenistan will host the next Ministerial Forum “Central Asia + Republic of Korea” this year.The Permanent Representative emphasized that Ashgabat is firmly committed to continuing a mutually beneficial and multifaceted dialogue with Seoul, both on a regional and bilateral basis.
