The Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN in Geneva and the head of the ICRC discussed a number of topical issues

In Geneva, a meeting was held between the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Office Vepa Hajiyev and the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mirjana Spoljaric-Egger. The MIC reports this with reference to the Turkmen permanent mission.

During the exchange of views on the current partnership agenda, the possibility of humanitarian actions in the regions of Central Asia, the Middle and Near East, and the establishment of cooperation with the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation to provide assistance to children in need of care was noted.

Issues of organizing information campaigns aimed at increasing public awareness and updating the existing bilateral legal framework between the parties were also considered.

The topic of participation of the Turkmen side in the 34th International Conference “Overcoming Uncertainty - Strengthening Humanity”, scheduled for October 28-31 in Geneva, was discussed.

The conference will be a platform for dialogue between representatives of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and States Parties to the Geneva Conventions. The forum will identify steps to strengthen the impact of humanitarian responses to new, current and future crises.
