The Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva held an event on human rights

Within the framework of the 57th session of the Human Rights Council, the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva, together with the Permanent Representatives of Central Asian countries, organized a side event on “Human Rights and the Right to Development” on October 2.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the event was attended by permanent representatives of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Türkiye, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of international organizations and human rights experts.

Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Geneva Office V. Hajiyev emphasized the importance of the right to development as a fundamental element of human rights. It was also noted that national programs aimed at improving the quality of life of the population are being implemented in Turkmenistan, the source notes.
