The Ombudsman of Turkmenistan discussed cooperation with UNICEF and the EBRD

Recently, the Commissioner for Human Rights in Turkmenistan (Ombudsman) Yazdursun Gurbannazarova held talks with the head of the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) office in Turkmenistan, Jalpa Ratna.

The meeting was held in the Ombudsman's office to discuss issues of bilateral cooperation, reports "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

Y.Gurbannazarova, noting UNICEF as the main international partner of the Ombudsman's office, said that within the framework of cooperation, various events are held on issues related to the protection of children's rights.

Jalpa Ratna, for her part, emphasized the positive nature and effectiveness of the policy of the Government of Turkmenistan in the field of protecting children's rights, highly appreciated the work of the Ombudsman's office in this area and noted the importance of its role as an independent institution for the protection and promotion of human rights in the country.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation.

On the same day, the Ombudsman held a meeting with the Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Senior Political Advisor David Lewis. The purpose of the meeting was to familiarize themselves with the observance of human rights in Turkmenistan and the activities of the Ombudsman's office.

During the conversation, the constant development of relations between Turkmenistan and the European Union in the field of human rights was noted.Ya.Gurbannazarova informed the guest about the activities of the Ombudsman's office since its establishment in the field of ensuring human rights and freedoms, achievements and accumulated experience, international cooperation, stating that this activity will be continued in the future.
