The Olympic team of Turkmenistan qualified for the Asian Cup for the first time

The Olympic football team of Turkmenistan qualified for the 2022 Asian Youth Cup (players under 23 years old).

The team of Turkmenistan finished the group stage in second place. Under the leadership of Ahmed Agamuradov, the team played two matches in Jordan in the qualifying stage of the 2022 Asian Youth Cup. In Amman, the team lost to Jordan (0: 1) and defeated Palestine (3:1).

The Turkmen team entered the top four national teams among the runners-up and, thus, for the first time in history, qualified for the 2022 Asian Cup.

We remind that 38 teams, divided into 11 groups, are competing for the 2022 Asian Youth Cup, which is being played for the 5th time.

According to the results of the qualifying tournament, Qatar, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, UAE, Australia, Jordan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand and Turkmenistan have already been selected for the championship.

Three tickets to the final stage will also be played in the final matches in groups D and I, the meetings will take place on November 2.In the final tournament, which will be held from June 1 to June 19, 2022 in Tashkent, Uzbek footballers will join them as hosts.

According to the results of the final stage, which is qualifying, the three best teams will be eligible to represent Asia at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
