The oldest man on the planet has died: the Briton was 112 years old

John Alfred Tinniswood, who lived in the UK, passed away in a nursing home at the age of 112, pravilamag.ru reports with reference to Mirror.

Employees of the social institution described the elderly man as a sociable and energetic conversationalist. A native of Liverpool, born in 1912 the year of the Titanic tragedy Tinniswood remained remarkably independent until his last days.

Despite his advanced age, the man managed his finances independently, got out of bed without outside help and listened to the radio every day to keep up with current events. John explained the secret of his longevity solely by luck, emphasizing that he did nothing special for this.

The elderly Briton's diet included ordinary products: he did not adhere to a strict diet, and on Fridays he enjoyed traditional fish and chips. Tinniswood never smoked and rarely drank alcohol. The long-liver’s main advice was simple: know when to stop.

After the death of Juan Vicente Perez Mora from Venezuela, who died at the age of 114, John was officially recognized as the oldest man in the world. He left behind four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
