On July 22, a solemn farewell ceremony will be held in Ashgabat for the Olympic team of Turkmenistan, which will take part in the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris. This became known at a meeting of the country's Cabinet of Ministers on July 19, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
Turkmenistan will be represented in four sports: judo, weightlifting, athletics and swimming. The country's delegation consists of 19 people.
The farewell ceremony will be held at the “Sport” hotel in the Olympic village of Ashgabat. Representatives of public organizations, sports federations and students are expected to participate.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of developing mass sports in the country and noted the regular successes of Turkmen athletes in the international arena.
The Olympic Games in Paris will be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
