The Office of the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan sent a statement of conformity for accreditation to the GANHRI

The Ombudsman of Turkmenistan sent a Statement on the compliance of the activities of the Ombudsman's Office with the Paris Principles (Statement of Compliance) to the Subcommittee on Accreditation (SCA) of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI).

The statement of compliance was prepared within the framework of the project: “Increasing the institutional capacity of the Office of the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan”, implemented by UNDP jointly with the Office of the Ombudsman in Turkmenistan.

The GANPZU Secretariat has scheduled the accreditation of the Ombudsman's Office for the second session of the PCA, which will take place from October 14 to 18.

The Ombudsman's dialogue with the Subcommittee will be based on the submitted Statement of Compliance, which has been in development for over two months and describes the progress of the Ombudsman's Office since its establishment in 2017.

Through this unique peer-review accreditation process, GANHRI ensures that individual national human rights institutions meet internationally recognized standards the Paris Principles to ensure their independence, pluralism and accountability, according to a UNDP press release.
