Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report that the number of people queuing up in front of ATMs has decreased.
According to an employee of “Turkmenistan” bank, this is related to the fact that residents receive their salaries at the end of the month and their retirement allowance at the beginning of the month.
Therefore, in the first ten or twelve days of each month large queues who want to withdraw cash form in front of ATMs.
There are two cash machines at the office of “Turkmenistan” bank located on Shevchenko street.They have not been dismantled or moved inside the bank building as other ATMs in Ashgabat.
Small queues made up of 8 to 10 people are formed in front of each ATM.A maximum withdrawal amount is 400 manats but as there are few people standing in line, people can make two cash withdrawals.
ATMs located in the office of the Turkmen-Turkish joint-stock commercial bank located in Baba Annanova street have been deactivated. According to a police officer on duty, there is no cash in ATMs and it is not known when cash withdrawals will be available again.
