The former resident of Turkmenistan’s National Security Committee in Moscow, who subsequently became the general and first deputy of Turkmenistan’s National Security Minister Rakhman Allakov, died in Ashgabat.
In the 90-s and early 2000-s Allakov was considered to be the chief coordinator for the fight against the Turkmen opposition both inside and outside Turkmenistan.
According to our sources, after the death of President Saparmurat Niyazov Rakhman Allakov was the security aide to the incumbent President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov.
Sources at “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report that the general was about 60 y.o.
There are no official reports on Rakhman Allakov’s death.
