A new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Qatar Hamad bin Rashid bin Hamad Al-Azbi has been accredited in Turkmenistan, who presented copies of his credentials to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov today, reports the information program “Watan” of the Turkmen television.
Congratulating the plenipotentiary representative of a friendly country on his appointment to a responsible diplomatic post, the Head of state stressed the interest of Turkmenistan in comprehensive strengthening traditional bilateral fraternal ties in every possible way, bringing them to an even higher level and filling them with new content.
The President of Turkmenistan noted with satisfaction that over the years of establishment of diplomatic relations cooperation between the two countries successfully develops and strengthens on the basis of respect, trust and openness principles. As noted, the agreements reached at the highest level laid a reliable basis for bringing the Turkmen-Qatari partnership to qualitatively new frontiers.
In this context, the Head of state stressed that he warmly reminds his visit to Qatar in December last year, during which he became an honored guest at one of the matches of the World Cup held in Doha.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that during the visit, a meeting was held with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during which the state and prospects of interstate cooperation were discussed.
It was noted that relevant work is being carried out to open a diplomatic representation of Turkmenistan in Doha, which will serve to further develop bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the State of Qatar, will give a new impetus to effective and long-term cooperation.
During the conversation, the Head of State and the diplomat stressed the importance of mutual support for important proposals and initiatives aimed at ensuring peace, security and global sustainable development.
Among the perspective areas of cooperation were named the fuel and energy complex, trade, investment, transport and communications, chemical and textile industries, agriculture, healthcare and high technology.
The sides also stressed the importance of traditional humanitarian and cultural contacts, which are an inseparable part of the intergovernmental dialog.
In conclusion, Hamad bin Rashid bin Hamad Al-Azbi assured that, as the plenipotentiary representative of his country in Turkmenistan, he would actively contribute to the further development of a multifaceted and effective constructive dialogue and good relations that fully meet the interests of the two states and their friendly peoples.
